I wonder how many Chicago fans wish they had Panarin instead of say Toews, Kane Seabrook. Hawks traded away to many supporting cast members instead of trading these guys when their stock was high. It’s still a business.

What I can tell you from covering the league for 35 years, that it is far trickier to rebuild with aging superstars still on your roster. The Blackhawks have some intriguing younger players up front. But they have to totally rebuild the D Corps and add a veteran goalie with some years ahead of him.
